BOYLE’S LAW MARRIOTT

A compact piston-and-gauge apparatus for demonstrating the pressure–volume relationship of a confined gas. The arrangement allows pressure changes to be observed as the gas volume is varied.

Description

The Boyle’s Law Marriott is a practical teaching apparatus built around a transparent cylinder, movable piston, and pressure gauge. By moving the piston, the enclosed air is compressed or expanded while the gauge indicates the resulting pressure. Students can take corresponding pressure and volume readings and use them to investigate the inverse relationship described by Boyle–Mariotte’s law. Its compact layout makes it particularly convenient for classroom demonstrations and laboratory practicals.
