CANTILEVER APPARATUS

A precision mechanics setup for measuring the bending of a cantilever under an applied load. Useful for studying elasticity, deflection, and the mechanical behavior of materials.

Description

The Cantilever Apparatus is used to investigate how a fixed beam bends when weights are applied at its free end. The loading arrangement and dial gauge allow the resulting deflection to be measured accurately, making it possible to compare the applied load with the displacement produced. It is particularly useful for practical experiments involving elasticity, Young’s modulus, beam deflection, load–deformation relationships, and bending of materials.
